Geoffrey Lambert – Atelier IMAGINAIR

Geoffrey Lambert – Atelier IMAGINAIR

Brussels, Belgium

Geoffrey Lambert (1985, Brussels)
is a self-taught designer/maker/artist who dedicates a broad knowledge of materials and techniques to an intrinsic aesthetic. His field of work covers a broad range. He creates furniture and sculptures or in-situ installations. He is passionate about scenography and exhibition design.

In his design objects, function does not disappear completely, but is no longer the object’s raison d’être. By exploring the process of burning, the maker searches for the soul of the specific wood he holds in hand.
Geoffrey researched this technique for years and continued to refine it. The many varieties of black and the different textures continue to fascinate him. The burning abstracts the wood until only the essence remains, that which comes alive in the imagination. The creative process as a slow attempt to capture what is elusive.

On the basis of his own practice, Geoffrey founded IMAGINAIR together with Katrien, in which the duo brings to life the different media they work with in a multi-disciplinary world.

Bas Pattyn

Bas Pattyn

Brussels, Belgium

Bas Pattyn (1982, Belgium) is a minimalist artist and designer.

He creates art and designs objects based on formal simplicity. Bas Pattyn’s binary thinking is reflected in his creations. The apparent simplicity of his works serves as a means to translate the complexities of the world into simple and straightforward forms. With few lines, he crafts stories which are nevertheless layered. Educated in graphic design and furniture design, Bas – as many of us – is in pursuit of establishing his place in the world.

As creative manager, Bas is co-responsible for IMAGINAIR Art/space Brussels.

Ruben Boeren

Ruben Boeren

Antwerp, Belgium

Ruben Boeren (1988, Antwerp) explores in his work the theatrical image and how to translate it in a contemporary and personal way.

This often results in an alienation of the underlying composition and a symbiosis of figuration and abstraction.

‘This merging of abstract and figurative morphology creates room for interpretation. This allows me to develop my own symbolism. It is interesting to see how people really develop a personal relationship with my works.‘ – Ruben Boeren

Above all, the artist celebrates the joy of painting and his ambition is to transmit that spark to the viewer.

Ruben Boeren studied painting at the Academy of Antwerp, followed by a postgraduate degree in visual research at Sint-Lucas Antwerp.

Tom Andries

Tom Andries

Rotselaar, Belgium

Tom Andries (b. Leuven 1969) is a Belgian multidisciplinary designer and contemporary artist. His main body of work consists of monochromes painted in heavily textured black ink. Tom uncovers the essence and hidden beauty of typography, abstracting basic geometric forms from letters. Trained as a typographer and graphic designer, Tom also founded a thriving branding agency called Today, which he is still passionately running.

Tom Andries’ artistic practice consists of series of abstracts painted in black ink directly onto the canvas. With a few strokes of a heavy brush, he covers the surface from edge to edge, creating abstract forms derived from typography. Often working in black on white, he purposefully uses curve-linear and angular compositions to add tension.

Brussels, Belgium - Morocco

Ahmed Ben Taleb (1991, Tiznit) is a Moroccan visual artist and designer living and working between Ixelles, Belgium, and Morocco. His studies of art and design in Morocco and Paris has shaped his work with a distinctly international and multicultural perspective.

His work goes beyond aesthetics, striving to uncover the deeper significance and identity of everyday objects, elevating them beyond their superficial shapes and volumes.

Inspired by the vibrant colours of city walls and landscapes from his childhood, Ben Taleb’s artwork often features a layered use of coloured pencils, creating soft yet distinctive dimensions. Though pencil remains a favourite medium, his work spans a variety of materials, including acrylic, ceramics, and other textures, showcasing his versatility and ability to blend different forms and techniques.

Miel Cardinael

Miel Cardinael

Gentbrugge, Belgium

Miel Cardinael (BE), designer of things and spaces.

Clamping tools, glue, coffee and scale models: things which are always hanging around. At home parts lie about without any clear purpose until, over time, ten different versions exist. Prototypes come and go. Sketches on the back of a child’s drawing.

A special and enduring bond between the object and its user is the starting point. Miel goes for an experimental approach to material, construction and user experience. Test, examine, set aside and start again. Plane and sand. Seeing solutions to problems you don’t yet have.
